Genz and the upcoming workforce challenges

As we approach 2023, it is critical to analyse present and future workforce trends. Many occupations in the human resources sector are being replaced by machines as a result of a shift towards automation and artificial intelligence. However, there is an increasing demand for specialised skills and knowledge, notably in the technical sector. The civil sector is expanding as populations grow, necessitating more infrastructure and construction projects.

Their is a huge shift in demographics impacting on a landmark difference in workforce trends. Birth rates continue to fall as populations age, resulting in severe talent shortages and decreased labour force participation in many countries. Skills shortages are concentrating in growth industries, and more Gen Z workers are increasing the bar on issues that are important to them.68% of Gen Z workers are dissatisfied with their organization’s progress towards developing a varied and inclusive work environment, and 56% would not accept a role if the leadership was not diverse.

We’ve all heard stories about robots taking our jobs in recent years. What we believed back then, and what has come to pass, is that technology can supplement rather than replace human talents. We are now entering the New Human Age, a period in which people use technology and digital tools to improve human connections, be more productive, and live more meaningful lives. This has never felt more timely. We face significant challenges as a global community, including addressing climate change, closing the skills gap, and unlocking untapped potential. Workers are concerned with success and job advancement, as well as climate action, equity, diversity, and expanding opportunity for all.

It is high time that providers of employment and business corporates become responsive to the needs of their upcoming employees to ensure a positive and fruitful workforce environment and productivity.
